The historic, Grade II listed former townhouse was constructed in the 1760s and predates Manchester Town Hall, directly opposite, by 120 years.
Ziferblat will occupy the entire building which will be completely renovated by the in-house Ziferblat design team who will recreate the classical Georgian townhouse ambience with authentic fixtures and fittings.
The four floors will provide two public sitting rooms where guests can enjoy the famous Ziferkitchen offer of unlimited food and drinks on a pay per minute basis, as well as 6 beautiful meeting rooms available for private hire. In addition, at the rear of the building, the ground floor will open out into a secret garden courtyard completely enclosed from the outside world and, at the front, street tables and chairs from which to watch the world go by.
Ziferblat offers a pay per minute social and work space, with no minimum spend and no membership requirement. It charges 8p per minute – and nothing else – for the time you spend there. Everything else is free. Ziferblat first opened its doors in Manchester in January 2015 on Edge Street in the Northern Quarter. Since then they have opened sites in Liverpool and more recently MediaCityUK with further expansion soon to be announced in Leeds and Sheffield.
Originally founded in Moscow in 2011, the pay per minute concept has been well received in the North West with over 300,000 guest visits to date in the Northern Quarter branch alone. It has created over 50 jobs and won more than a dozen regional and national awards. There are more than 20 branches across Europe.
