O executivo -chefe do Conselho da Cidade de Newcastle, Pam Smith, foi o orador principal no lançamento do Downtown in Business Newcastle. Juntou -se o diretor executivo do Liverpool John Lennon, John Irving, que anteriormente era diretor financeiro do Newcastle United Football Club e 50 líderes empresariais de toda a cidade. DIB Managing Director Chris McKenna said:
“We were delighted to welcome Pam, John, and businesses from across the Northeast to our launch event at Innside Hotel.
“We will be looking to get to know the city and its movers and shakers over the next six-months, and we have a programme of Newcastle events in place for the remainder of the year.
“It is a city with a tremendous number of opportunities, and DIB wants to play its part in supporting Newcastle in its future progress and success.”
